About Us

Flying Rhino Coffee was established in 2005 in a little Uptown Toledo warehouse by Ralph & Gini Behrendt. As pillars of the downtown community, the Behrendt's ran many businesses from a framing shop, to an art gallery featuring their hand blown glass and bead creations, to their final act, the coffee roastery and artisan chocolate shop. 

After Ralph's sudden passing in 2014, his apprentice, Angie Cucunato, took the reigns in roasting. Together, Angie and Gini ran the roastery for four years. In 2018, Gini made the decision to sell the company to Angie. She then moved the roastery to Toledo's beloved Warehouse District, where it now resides at 201 Morris Street. 

Many things have changed since Flying Rhino Coffee's inception in 2005. We have replaced our roaster, updated the branding, and taken countless professional training courses in a never-ending pursuit to have the highest quality coffee in Northwest Ohio. What hasn't changed in nearly 20 years is our commitment to quality, love of the craft, and community.
